Despite the mental caring I sometimes feel while doing the Adobe nine-day challenges for Photoshop, I usually end up with some really nice images. Images that I might never have even tried without the nudging of the leader.
The theme for this day’s challenge with Juan Jose Egusquiza was Day into Night; changing a day-lit image into dark. This started with a bright sunny image of the badlands in South Dakota from Unsplash. I used several different adjustment layers to darken the rocky hills. I used an image of the milky way, also from Unsplash and the moon from NASA. I used hue and saturation layers to make all the elements have the same moody blue tones. Camera Raw (filters or engine) adds the rich texturing and pop of the details.
